Distance education

Another way to teach your children about physical health is to let them know that you exercise as well. If you are a jogger or you attend an aerobics class, you should mention it to your child. They will remember this when they are going to get their exercise. Social Learning If your child goes to day care, they will already know basic social skills. But if your child has been at home with you, they may be afraid to meet new people. You will have to teach your child that meeting new people is a way of life, but they should not talk to those they do not know. This can be a very trying time for you and your child. While some children are outgoing, others are not. Learning how to navigate through society will take your child many years to understand and cope with. While everyone eventually finds there way, it can take some children a lot longer than others. Once your child goes to school, they may ask you why some children are mean to them. This can be very troubling for both of you. You will not only have to comfort your child, but you will also have to find ways to explain it to them. It is at this time that children learn about acceptable social behaviour, what they should and should not say, and who they can trust when they are choosing their friends. While you can give advice and help your child see which friendships are worth keeping, as your child grows, they will not want to ask you for advice. This is part of growing up.
